Russia in late March banned Facebook and Instagram for "carrying out extremist activities" after authorities accused Meta of tolerating "Russophobia" during Russia's military campaign in Ukraine.
Mark Zuckerberg had in May this year been added to a list of 963 leading Americans, including US President Joe Biden, who were banned from entering Russia, according to AFP reports.

Authorities have identified more than 56,000 problems during the campaign, with over 45,000 rectified. Monitoring combines satellite and drone technology with ground inspections, public reports and tips exposed by online media. Illegal dumping in karst caves has also been a focus. More than 80,000 cases have been inspected in key provinces, with over 8,000 problems identified and more than half rectified.
